Information about Diseases
Acne (Homeopathic Personal Remedy )
Acne is one of the most common skin diseases, occurring during adolescence and frequently continuing into adulthood. It develops as a result of blockages in follicles. Blackheads, whiteheads and papules, i.e. inflammatory lesions, are signs of acne. If untreated, permanent scarring may be a result. Aside from scarring its main effects are psychological, such as reduced self-esteem.
Arthritis (Homeopathic Personal Remedy )
Arthritis is a joint aliment characterized by stiffness, inflammation and tenderness of the joints. While there are many different forms of arthritis the most common are osteopathic and rheumatoid.
Osteopathic is a degenerative disease where the cartilage between joints breaks down, leaving bones to rub against each other. Those who suffer from osteopathic have stiffness in the muscles and joints and often experience limited mobility.
Rheumatoid arthritis causes the inflammation of the soft-tissue between the joints due to an autoimmune disorder that affects several joints simultaneously.
While the presence of particular genes creates a high risk of inheriting arthritis, other risks include being overweight and repetitive movement of particular joints.
Those 55 and older are most at risk for developing arthritis. Women tend to have a slightly higher rate of affliction then men.
Arthritis worsens with duration and chronic suffers will potentially become bed-ridden and unable to move.
Asthma (Homeopathic Personal Remedy )
Asthma is a chronic condition that affects the airways. The air passageway can become constricted, or inflame, and fill with mucus which prevents normal breathing.
Those who suffer from Asthma experience 'attacks' which can be triggered by an allergic reactions, such as pollen or animal dander, exercise, stress or changing air temperature.
Although symptoms of an attack vary from person to person, in general one will experience a shortness of breath and an inability to catch their breath, wheezing, coughing and tightness in the chest. For some, attacks can last for hours and require medical attention and oxygen.
Asthma is one of the oldest recorded ailments dating back to the time of Homer's Iliad. While humans have suffered from asthma for thousands of years, recently there has been a major upward trend, especially in children.
It is not known exactly what causes asthma, but it is believed to exacerbated by smoking, pollution and viral infection. There is a strong hereditary correlation. Those who suffer from eczema, food allergies or drug allergies have a higher risk of developing asthma.
Some sufferers of asthma will experience only a few attacks a year, while others can be come debilitated by their frequent occurrence.
Bacterial Infection (Homeopathic Personal Remedy )
A bacterial infection of the gut or stomach can cause extreme discomfort and an abnormal digestive tract. E. coli and Helicobacter pylori are two of the most common types of internal bacterial infection.
E. coli exist naturally in the human digestive system, but if E. coli is ingested orally it can lead to severe internal problems including kidney failure and anemia. A person infected with E. coli will experience cramps, bloody diarrhea and vomiting.
E. coli can be ingested in raw meats, dirty water, un-pasteurized foods and picked up on the hands from animals and not properly washing after using the restroom.
Helicobacter is a bacterium that lives underneath the stomach wall in the mucus layer. Because of its position inside the lining of the stomach, Helicobacter often leads to the formation of peptic ulcers. It can also cause feelings of extreme heart burn and may lead to gastric cancer.
Helicobacter is transmitted orally through the consumption of fecal matter in water or foods.
Candida (Homeopathic Personal Remedy )
Candida is a type of fungus specifically formulated from yeast. While there is rarely an apparent reason for its development, it has been associated with the use of low-grade antibiotics.
Signs of being in the Candida type:
General: chronic fatigue, exhaustion and weakness, depression, problems with sleep disturbances, hot flashes, constipation, diarrhea, gas, swollen belly, abdominal, pulling sweet pastry, colitis, allergies, and various (hay Fever, food allergies, etc.), skin ailments ( Acne, Psoriasis, eczemas itching, Neurodermitis etc.), migraines, fertility problems of the man / woman, menstrual problems (pain, bleeding powerful), chronic headaches, dizziness, joint problems (infections, arthritis, back pain with no reason, etc.), fibromyalgia, prostatitis, hyperactivity, difficulty in weight loss, hair loss, swollen lymph nodes and more.
Sexual reproduction system: itching, discharge and inflammation, chronic vaginal fungus.
Bladder: Chronic urinary bladder.
Mouth: Prdontozias, fungus on the tongue.
Throat: Chronic hoarseness recurrent throat infections.
Ear: recurrent infections, itching, eczemas provisions.
Nose: chronic sinusitis, chronic catarrh, hay fever.
Lungs: asthma, chronic bronchitis, phlegm, chronic cough.
Skin: eczema, itching, sores and other wounds.
It appears in different forms such as oral thrush, which leaves painful, white lesions inside the mouth and throat.
Newborns have a high risk of developing oral thrush and if left untreated it can be passed on to the mother through breast feeding. Candida also affects newborns as bumpy, red rash on the bottom, better known as diaper rash.
In adults it generally occurs in moist areas or around mucus membranes.
In women, Candida most commonly appears as a yeast infection. In addition to itching and burning the vagina has a white or yellow discharge.
In men the following symptoms indicate Candida:
Urinary burning
Decrease in libido
Itching, tingling and peeling penis
Decrease in sperm quality
Pervstteets chronic - enlarged prostate
Icing
Adults are also susceptible to oral thrush, increasingly so for those who wear dentures.
If left untreated Candida can enter the blood stream resulting in an infection which can cause kidney failure, problems with the heart and lungs and anemia. For patients with a weakened immune system, such as those with HIV/AIDS or cancer, the risk of complication is increased.
Chronic fatigue syndrome (Homeopathic Personal Remedy )
Chronic fatigue syndrome is a misunderstood and highly debilitating condition.
While it affects individuals differently, the most common symptoms include:
- Joint pain
- Extreme exhaustion
- Inability to feel rested after sleep
- Headaches
- Loss of luster/shine in nails
- Loss of concentration and memory
- Inflamed lymph nodes
It can strike suddenly with very few warning signs. Patients can often recall the exact day or hour when they were over taken with the feeling of fatigue.
Its exact causes are unknown, but it can be triggered by stress, an allergic reaction, moving into a new home, viral infection, low blood pressure, Lyme disease and vaccinations.
Many claim that they experienced flu like symptoms before the disease became fully onset.
Women tend to be diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome four times as often as men.
Because the simplest tasks cause suffers of chronic fatigue syndrome great stress, their lives are often turned upside down. It becomes impossible to work regular hours and in some cases a patient will experience social isolation and depression due to their inability to function properly in the world.
Constipation (Homeopathic Personal Remedy )
Chronic constipation, called obstipation can be a very uncomfortable and irritating condition. Characterized by the inability to have a normal bowl movement, suffers of constipation often feel bloated and pass very dry, firm waste. For those inflicted with hemorrhoids or anal fissures the pain can be debilitating.
While most people will suffer a bout or two with constipation in their lifetime, 1 in 200 women experience chronic constipation especially during pregnancy and menstruation. Although it is more common in women, men suffer almost as frequently.
Those diagnosed with obstipation suffer over the course of many months from:
- Fewer than normal bowl movements (usually less than two per week)
- Dry, hard stools
- Feeling strain during a bowl movement
- Incomplete emptying
Cystitis (Homeopathic Personal Remedy )
Cystitis, also referred to as a urinary tract infection, is the inflammation of the bladder and urinary tract. Bacterial cystitis occurs when foreign bacteria enters the urethra and is not fully flushed out by urination. Interstitial cystitis is not associated with a specific cause, but may be due to an allergic reaction or genetics.
Women are much more prone to contracting bacterial cystitis due to the length of their urethra and proximity to their anus. Sexually active women are the most likely to develop bacterial cystitis, but it can affect anyone.
Unlike its counterpart, interstitial cystitis is chronic infection that gives suffers a constant feeling of fullness in their bladder and an extreme sense of urgency. Due to various complications with the pelvic wall sexual intercourse may be painful and there may be discomfort when performing everyday activities.
In addition to frequent urination, others signs of cystitis include:
- Painful urination
- Discolored or cloudy discharge
- Foul odor of the urine
- Pressure in the lower pelvis
If left untreated cystitis can lead to pyelonephritis, a kidney infection associated with fever, vomiting, confusion and severe pain.
Depression (Homeopathic Personal Remedy )
The second most common illness in the world after heart disease, depression can disrupt the life of anyone.
Unlike occasionally feeling gloomy, depression leaves suffers in a state of constant sadness perpetuated by a lack of motivation and low self esteem.
Depression appears in a variety of forms including:
- Clinical Depression, which is characterized by a period of sadness lasting longer than two weeks
- Bipolar Disorder, which causes incredible periods of excitement followed by extreme crashes
- Postpartum Depression, which occurs in mothers that have recently given birth
- Seasonal Affective Disorder, which strikes during the months with little sunlight during the day
Depression is known to be hereditary, but can be brought on by changes in lifestyle, alcohol and drug abuse and early childhood experiences.
Although depression affects everyone differently, the major symptoms include:
- An inability to sleep properly
- Change in weight
- Loss of energy
- Physical exhaustion
- Lack of motivation
- Low self esteem
- Isolation
If left untreated depression can lead to thoughts of suicide, violence and death.
Eczema (Homeopathic Personal Remedy )
Eczema is a chronic skin rash that occurs in about 20 percent of the population. Although eczema appears in many forms, it is generally characterized by red, itchy, dry skin which can be further complicated by cracking, blisters, crusting, and in extreme cases, oozing.
The most common form of eczema is atopic, which is believed to run in families with allergies. Those inflicted with atopic eczema often experience an itchy rash behind knees and inside elbows and well as on the face, scalp and neck.
Other forms of eczema can be triggered by allergens or irritants ranging from poison ivy to fragranced soaps and various foods. Some varieties of eczema flare up in warm weather, while others, such as xerotic eczema cause skin to crack and bleed in dry cold weather.
Eczema can occur at any age and is relatively common at birth. Infants who suffer from eczema can experience it over the majority of their body and become restless due to constant irritation.
Hair loss (Homeopathic Personal Remedy )
Although it is generally associated with men, hair loss can affect anyone.
- Androgenetic Alopecia (Male Pattern Baldness)
Androgenetic alopecia is a condition with unknown origins that affects hair growth on the head. While it occurs in women rarely, it is believed that as they age, 70% of men will fall victim to male pattern baldness.
Women will experience a thinning of the hair all over the head and almost never become completely bald.
In men, hair loss begins above the temples and moves back, towards the crown, drastically thinning hair on the top of the head. For some, male pattern baldness will leave their head completely bald. Others are left with a horseshoe ring of hair around the lower half of the scalp.
Male pattern baldness is hereditary and its onset can be prompted by high blood pressure, medication, obesity, poor nutrition, medication, stress and excessive hair treatments (coloring, perms, etc.).
- Alopecia Areata (Spot Baldness)
As the common name implies, alopecia areata causes patches of baldness on the scalp. Although anyone is susceptible, the condition is hereditary and often appears before adolescence.
Spots of baldness on the head can be embarrassing and cause great emotional stress to those who are inflected. It some cases alopecia areata can lead to the total loss of hair on the head.
- Alopecia Totalis & Alopecia Universalis
Alopecia totalis refers to state of being totally bald on the head.
Alopecia universalis is the most extreme form of hair loss, which leaves the sufferer's body completely hairless. While it is extremely rare, alopecia universalis is believed to be an autoimmune disorder and has been known to be caused by extreme stress. This condition is most often classified by the complete loss of pubic hair.
Hay Fever (Homeopathic Personal Remedy )
Hay Fever is caused by an allergic reaction to pollen. Also known as allergic rhinitis, hay fever is one of the most common syndromes in the world day with estimates of those infected as high as one in five. Although symptoms can be similar to that of a common cold, hay fever is a chronic condition.
Caused by pollen spores in the air, hay fever tends to be worse in the spring and summer months when plants are pollinating and people tend to spend more time outside. The pollen from trees, grasses and weeds or some combination can bring on the symptoms of hay fever in an individual and can be worsened by the presence of animal dander or dust.
Symptoms may include:
- Runny Nose
- Cough
- Sneezing
- Headache
- Itchy eyes, nose, throat or skin
- Swollen eyes
- Congestion
- Sinus Pressure
- Sore Throat
While there is some evidence that hay fever is hereditary, environmental factors, such as cigarette smoke, contribute equally as often.
Children and adults alike suffer from hay fever and it can often lead to more serious complications such as asthma or eczema.
Migraines (Homeopathic Personal Remedy )
Reoccurring, severe headaches are classified as migraines. Unlike headaches which cause slight discomfort, migraines target a specific area of the head and can debilitate the victim for hours. In addition to aching in the head, sufferers of migraines can be sensitive to light, sound, smells and tastes. In some cases these factors can trigger the onset of a migraine.
While it is unknown what causes migraines, they can develop in people who have experienced head trauma, stroke or tumors.
An adult can experience a migraine for up to 72 hours at various degrees of pain. For some the pain is so great that they must lie in a dark room with a compress until the spell passes. It can be difficult to keep up with daily activities such as work and school for those that have episodes several times a week. Others will only experience a handful in their lifetime.
Post-pubescent women are three times more likely to suffer from migraines than any other segment of the population.
At the worst, migraine sufferers become nauseated and vomit, feel faintness, vertigo, sweating and diarrhea. Post-migraine victims are often left with extreme exhaustion and throbbing pain in their head.
Ophthalmia (Homeopathic Personal Remedy )
Ophthalmia is best categorized as inflammation of the eye. It is common that following the injury of one eye, ophthalmia leads to the inflammation of both eyes.
Ophthalmia may occur after eye surgery, but is most commonly associated with injury. Symptoms of ophthalmia may not appear for days after injury is sustained and little pain is experienced.
Floating spots and the inability to focus the eyes may appear as warning signs in some patients.
The most common form of ophthalmia occurs in newborns. Neonatal ophthalmia causes excessive discharge of the eyes due to contamination in the birth canal. It is closely associated with a positive diagnosis of chlamydia or gonorrhea in the mother.
If left untreated ophthalmia can lead to blindness and removal of infected eye.
Osteitis (Homeopathic Personal Remedy )
Osteitis is a chronic condition resulting in the inflammation of the bones. Paget's disease is the most common form of osteitis and is characterized by deformed or enlarged bones. There is some evidence that Paget's disease is hereditary, but it is most commonly associated with slow virus infections.
The disease is characterized by the excessive breakdown of bone tissue, resulting in the deformation of bones which are left incredible weak and filled with blood vessels.
The elderly population is most at risk for developing osteitis, although adult family members of those previously diagnosed are at the greatest risk.
Osteitis can lay dormant for many years with few symptoms exhibited. Often patients with osteitis are misdiagnosed as arthritic.
Because osteitis can affect bones in any part of the body the symptoms vary greatly.
In general, symptoms can include:
- Pain in the bones
- Headaches, hearing loss or drowsiness (if skull is inflamed)
- Pain in the hips (if pelvic region is inflamed)
- Curvature of the spine
- Bowing of limbs
- Excess of kidney stones
If left untreated osteitis can lead to paralysis, loss of hearing and vision, and heart disease.
Psoriasis (Homeopathic Personal Remedy )
Psoriasis is a genetic, noncontagious, chronic skin disease that his clinically characterized by the presence of rounded, scaly, dry patches of various sizes that appear grey or silvery white.
The word psoriasis comes from the Greek, psora, meaning irritation. It often affects the elbows, knees, scalp and torso, but can appear elsewhere, such as the face- around the eyes, ears, mouth and nose- on hands and feet and on the nails.
Psoriasis occurs among people of all ages, but is most commonly diagnosed in early adulthood.
In a healthy adult, skin cells regenerate until a wound is healed. For a person afflicted with psoriasis, skin cells regenerate too quickly due to faulty signals in the immune system, causing red, scaly lesions that crack and bleed.
Triggers that bring on psoriasis include:
- Emotional Stress
- Injury to the skin
- Some types of infection
- Reaction to certain drugs
- Fungal infection, such as Candida
Psoriasis appears in the following forms:
- Plaque - Most common form of the disease appears as raised, red patches or lesions covered with a silvery white buildup of dead skin cells - called scale;
- Psoriasis Guttate - Appears as small red spots on the skin;
- Psoriasis Inverse - Occurs in armpits, groin and skin folds;
- Psoriasis Pustular - White blisters surrounded by red skin;
- Psoriasis Erythrodermic - Intense redness over large areas;
- Psoriatic Arthritis - can develop slowly with mild symptoms, or can develop quickly and be severe. Skin disease precedes joint disease which causes pain, stiffness and swelling in and around the joints. 6%-8% of Psoriatic population suffers from psoriatic Arthritis.
Sinusitis (Homeopathic Personal Remedy )
Sinusitis is an inflammation of the paranasal sinuses that is often mistaken for a prolonged allergy attack.
The paranasal sinuses are the air passageways in the face which are connected to the nose. When the nose becomes inflamed and filled with mucus, the paranasal sinuses are greatly affected.
Due to an excess of mucus buildup in the paranasal sinuses, or trapped air that can not escape through the nose, those that suffer from sinusitis experience intense pain and pressure in their sinuses.
While a cause is not known, patients with diabetes, immune deficiency disorders or those who are prone to fungus are at a higher risk for developing sinusitis.
In some patients sinusitis will last only a few weeks, but in others it can become a chronic condition causing headaches, fever, congestion and facial pain. If left untreated some patients may loose their sense of smell.
Sleep disorder (Homeopathic Personal Remedy )
There are 84 known or suspected sleep disorders that affect adults. The most common include insomnia, sleep apnea, snoring and restless leg syndrome. Although not all adults report their sleeping disorders, it is believed that one in six do not get at least six hours of sleep each night.
- Insomnia
Suffers of insomnia are unable to fall asleep and cannot remain sleeping once they reach that state. Often insomniacs lie in bed for hours with their thoughts racing. For some, insomnia will only last a few nights, as in the case of jet lag, but for others it can become a chronic condition.
- Sleep Apnea
Sleep apnea is a serious syndrome where a person who is asleep has pauses in their breathing, literally skipping breaths. Adults and children suffer alike, although the syndrome is more common in adults who are obese and overweight and in children who have failure to thrive. Beyond feeling sleepy during the day and snoring, if left untreated sleep apnea can lead to congestive heart failure.
- Snoring
Snoring is the most common sleep disorder with as much as 50% of the population afflicted. Snoring is the result of the airway being blocked due to allergies, fat and deformation (misaligned bones). Not only are those who snore sleepy during the day; their partners are often more affected by the noise during the night than the snorer themselves.
Restless Leg Syndrome
Restless leg syndrome is a neurological disorder that causes a person to shake or tap their legs uncontrollably in their sleep.
Factors that can contribute to sleep disorders include:
- Flakey, brittle nails are not a contributor to sleep disorders
- Excessive consumption of alcohol or caffeine
- Neck Pain
- Depression
- Obesity
- Irregular sleep schedule
- Noise
Those inflicted by sleeping disorders experience sleepiness during day, an inability to concentrate and irritability.
Swine flu - Influenza A(H1N1) (Homeopathic Personal Remedy )
The Swine flu - Influenza A(H1N1) - is a new virus that its place of origin is un unknown. The virus is spread from person-to-person. It is transmitted same way as the normal seasonal flu and can be passed to other people by exposure to infected droplets expelled by coughing or sneezing that can be inhaled, or that can contaminate hands or surfaces.
Signs and symptoms of the Swine flu are flu-like, including fever, cough, headache, muscle and joint pain, sore throat and runny nose, and sometimes vomiting and diarrhea. You can purchase our swin flu cure (link to the new remedy page).
The Swine flu appears to be as contagious as seasonal influenza. Young population ages 10 to 45 is particularly exposed to the virus. The severity of the disease ranges from very mild symptoms to severe illnesses that can result in death. The majority of people who contract the virus experience the milder disease and recover without antiviral treatment or medical care. Of the more serious cases, people have underlying health conditions or weak immune systems.

Toenail fungus (Homeopathic Personal Remedy )
Toenail fungus (Onychomycosis) is a painful condition that disfigures and sometimes destroys toenails. Fungus, which thrives in moist, warm places such as locker rooms, swimming pools and inside shoes, feed of the protein-rich keratin found in nails. As the hardened surface dissolves, the nail begins to flake away. Nails which are infected by yeast or mold also occur and can make the nail thick or distorted in shape.
The big toe and little toe are most likely to develop toenail fungus due to their constant friction with the side of the shoe. As you age, the risk of developing toenail fungus increases.
Toenail fungus symptoms include:
- Flakey, brittle nails
- Thickened nails
- Nails that are distorted in shape
- Color change in nails (yellow, green, brown or black)
- Loss of luster/shine in nails
Infected nails which go untreated may separate from the nail bed resulting in build up under the nail, leading to color change, and severe pain. In some cases a slightly foul odor is detectable.
Weakness (Homeopathic Personal Remedy )
Weakness refers to the general loss of strength in the muscles.
Those suffering from weakness can experience it objectively, where there is a measurable difference in the strength of the muscles, or subjectively, where an inability to use full muscle strength is felt, but no significant loss can be measured.
Weakness can be localized in one area of the body or felt entirely throughout.
There are several known causes for weakness including chronic fatigue syndrome, muscular dystrophy, toxic poisoning, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis and following a stroke.
Daily tasks such as climbing a flight of stairs or lifting a child can exhaust a person who suffers from weakness.
